The Poem I cannot forget
I am known more for forgetting things very quickly. And in fact that is very much true. But there have been certaing things that I think will be in my memory forever and one among them is the following poem. I dont remember the Poet but what I remember is that this one is the English version of a part of Geethanjali written by Rabindranath Tagore. The poem goes like this
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls;
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretch its arms towards perfection;
Where tireless striving stretch its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my Country Awake
